What’s the big deal about White Ink you ask?
Why not just print a darker background and have your whites and brights appear as they always have using a white stock?
Firstly, … how boring.
Secondly, you get to use stock that is the same colour the whole way through.
Let me give you an example.
In the past, you may have been doing invitations, and you wanted a black background with white text. Seems simple enough, but once printed on thick white stock (double sided of course) you notice there is a white line between the front and back of the invitation.
If the design was printed on a black stock, we do away with the white line ‘in between’ the stock. It looks more professional and a little bit shmancy.
Black & White or Full Colour
White Ink on black, red, olive green or any coloured paper or card (even craft board) looks stunning.
For colour to stand out on a darker stock, White Ink is applied to the stock first and the other colours are laid on top. This gives the colour a chance to shine against the dark stock.
Too easy!
